Introducing the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally: An Electrified, Off-Road-Ready Stallion with Sporty Flair

Ford has unveiled its first rally-inspired electric vehicle (EV), the 2024 Mustang Mach-E Rally. This unique EV is designed to push the boundaries of the Mach-E family, featuring a rally-tuned suspension, a dual-motor powertrain, and a sporty design intended to tackle various terrains.

The Mustang Mach-E Rally builds upon Ford’s rich history in rally racing, which includes four manufacturing championship titles. With a focus on an electric future, Ford has retired its Fiesta rally car and introduced this new generation of rally-inspired EVs.

Key features of the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally include:

  1. Dual-Motor Electric Powertrain: The rally car is equipped with a dual-motor electric powertrain, delivering “at least” 480 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.
  2. Rally-Tuned Suspension: It features a raised, tuned suspension with MagneRide shocks and specially tuned springs, providing 0.8 inches (20 mm) of additional ground clearance.
  3. RallySport Drive Mode: A unique off-road drive mode designed for rallying, offering features like bigger slides, linear throttle response, and more aggressive damping for improved handling on gravel and dirt roads.
  4. Off-Road Capabilities: The Mach-E Rally is designed to handle challenging conditions, including snow and slippery on-road conditions.
  5. Interior Enhancements: Inside, the vehicle features gloss white accents on the dash, steering wheel, and door stitching. Performance seating with gloss white seatbacks and “Mach-E Rally” branding is also included.
  6. Range and Charging: The Mach-E Rally is expected to have a targeted 250-mile EPA range with a 91 kWh lithium-ion battery. DC fast charging from 10% to 80% is estimated to take 36.5 minutes.
  7. Availability: The Mustang Mach-E Rally is set to be available in the US with an estimated MSRP of around $65,000, starting in early 2024, with deliveries following shortly after.

This electric rally car represents Ford’s commitment to exploring new terrain with its iconic Mustang brand, taking it off the asphalt and onto gravel and dirt roads. It’s part of the broader industry trend of introducing performance-oriented electric vehicles, showing that electric power can deliver excitement and capability.
