Sacrilege Motors, a bespoke performance, restoration, and electric-conversion studio, is set to unveil its first Porsche 911 commission, known as “BLACKBIRD,” at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 20, 2023. The company’s focus is on evolving classic Porsche 911s by preserving their analog driving experience while updating their performance and reducing their environmental impact through electric conversions.

BLACKBIRD, a 1992 Porsche 911 America Roadster, has been restored, performance-tuned, and converted to an all-electric powertrain at Sacrilege Motors’ headquarters. The commission features a Tesla Model S motor, a 62 kWh battery pack, and a range of approximately 200 miles. The goal was to retain the 911’s renowned handling characteristics while enhancing its performance and components, all while reducing environmental impact.

Sacrilege Motors was founded by Phil Wagenheim and Bobby Singh, both passionate about Porsche 911s. The company’s mission is to create captivating EV-conversion Porsche 911s that combine instant electric power with the familiarity of driving a Porsche 911. The restored and electric-converted Porsche 911s aim to retain the classic 911’s driving dynamics while reducing maintenance and environmental impact.

The commission showcases the unique blend of Porsche’s classic design and modern electric power, emphasizing the commitment to creating sustainable yet thrilling driving experiences. Sacrilege Motors strives to deliver a Porsche 911 with the exhilaration of an electric powertrain while preserving the essence of the iconic model.
