Fisker has announced plans to increase production capacity for the Fisker Ocean all-electric SUV starting in September. The ramp-up aims to boost production from around 180 vehicles per day to approximately 300 per day by the fourth quarter of 2023. Fisker is working closely with suppliers to achieve this production rate in October. The increased production is intended to support customer deliveries in several European markets, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, as well as Canada and various US regions.
As of September 4, Fisker’s production partner, Magna Steyr, had manufactured 3,123 customer vehicles, with nearly 3,000 of them delivered to Fisker. In the US, over 450 Fisker Oceans have been delivered to customers, and more than 1,500 additional vehicles are expected to arrive in the US shortly. In Europe, nearly 1,000 vehicles have been received, with 325 already delivered.
Fisker anticipates receiving all 5,000 Fisker Ocean One launch edition vehicles from Magna by September 30, 2023. However, deliveries may extend into October. These vehicles will feature the latest version of Fisker’s software (version 1.06), which includes updates based on customer feedback, with more software updates expected in the coming weeks to enhance the user experience.
The Fisker Ocean One launch edition is part of the broader Fisker Ocean lineup, starting at $68,999, with a 113 kWh battery pack and an EPA-estimated range of 360 miles on standard 20″ wheels and tires, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs in its class. The vehicle is available in various trim levels, with a starting price of $37,499 for the Fisker Ocean Sport trim level in the US.
