Lotus Emeya: The Unveiling of an All-Electric Hyper GT

Lotus has unveiled its first four-door hyper-GT electric car, the Emeya, in New York City. This high-performance electric vehicle is designed to offer an exhilarating driving experience while also incorporating advanced and active aerodynamic features, including an active front grille, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler. These aerodynamic features, combined with a low center of gravity referred to as “hyperstance” by Lotus, enhance stability during driving and set a new standard for ride and handling excellence in the GT segment.

The Lotus Emeya features an electronically controlled air suspension system equipped with advanced onboard sensors that constantly monitor the road conditions and adjust the vehicle’s settings to provide a smooth ride. The top-spec model of the Emeya is equipped with Lotus’ high-power dual-motor setup, enabling a top speed of over 155 mph (250 km/h) and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of under 2.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric GTs in the world.

Lotus has also focused on providing exceptional charging capabilities for the Emeya. It can add 93 miles (150 km) of range with just five minutes of charging using a 350 kW DC fast charger and can achieve an 80% charge in as little as 18 minutes.

In terms of sustainability, Lotus has consciously designed the Emeya with advanced sustainable materials that are sourced sustainably, helping to reduce its carbon footprint. These materials include a luxury thread made from repurposed fibers from the fashion industry, PVD aluminum, Alcantara, Nappa leather, and Ultrafabrics PU.

For an immersive audio experience, the Emeya will offer a high-quality audio system developed with KEF, featuring the award-winning Uni-Q speaker design, Uni-Core space-saving subwoofer enclosure, and Dolby Atmos-enabled 3D surround sound.

Further details about the Lotus Emeya, including market availability and pricing, will be released in the future, with production expected to begin in 2024.
