Peugeot e-2008 EV Gets Refreshed Design and Increased Range
Peugeot is set to update its popular electric SUV, the e-2008, with a refreshed design, improved technology, and a longer range. The updated e-2008 aims to align with Peugeot’s other electric models, such as the e-208 and e-308, and will be available for orders in the summer.
Here are the key updates to the new Peugeot e-2008:
1. Refreshed Exterior: The e-2008 receives a more assertive SUV design, featuring a wider front end with the new ‘Peugeot Shield’ design element. It adopts a light signature similar to the 508 and 508 SW, with three vertical light claws integrated into the bumper. The rear design incorporates redesigned LED lights with three horizontal slats.
2. Zero-Emission Signifiers: The e-2008 features “E” motifs in blue and white to highlight its zero-emission credentials. Customers can choose from six body colors and wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches.
3. Increased Range: A new 54 kWh battery pack is integrated into the e-2008, offering an extended range of up to 252 miles, a significant improvement from the previous 214-mile range. The electric motor’s power output has also increased by 18% to 116 kW.
4. Fast Charging: The e-2008 supports rapid charging, allowing it to be charged from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes using a 100 kW rapid charger. Home charging using a 7.4 kW charger takes over seven hours.
5. Enhanced Technology: Inside the e-2008, there’s an updated i-Cockpit featuring a new 10-inch digital instrument cluster, with GT versions offering a 3D display. A 10-inch central touchscreen display with physical buttons underneath provides easy access to functions.
6. Driver Assistance: The e-2008 comes equipped with various driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, extended traffic sign recognition, and lane-keeping assist.
The updated Peugeot e-2008 will be available for orders this summer, with deliveries expected to begin toward the end of 2023. While pricing details have not been disclosed, it is anticipated to start at around £25,000, with the range-topping GT model expected to cost approximately £30,000.
