Polestar has unveiled a 1:1 scale model of the ‘Polestar Synergy,’ an electric fantasy supercar created through a design contest. This design combines three winning entries from the Polestar Design Contest and aims to provide an advanced technical story for sustainable performance experiences. The design contest received over 600 entries, and the winning designs were chosen based on their ability to envision a Polestar vehicle centered around the performance experience.
Key features of the ‘Polestar Synergy’ electric fantasy supercar:
- Nature-Inspired Design: The final design takes inspiration from nature and emphasizes emotional durability. It features a striking single-seat floating interior design with a focus on control.
- Exterior Designs: Two exterior designs were selected as winners. Devashish Deshmukh’s design draws inspiration from a hammerhead shark and incorporates hollowed-out volumes. Swapnil Desai’s design is themed around emotional durability, emphasizing technical upgradability and materials that age gracefully over time.
- Interior Design: The interior design, created by Yingxiang Li, is performance-oriented and offers a unique experience focused on “floating comfort and control.”
The ‘Polestar Synergy’ model is currently exhibited at the Polestar Space in Munich during IAA 2023, and it will visit other Polestar locations in the future. Polestar has also announced a partnership with Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand. This collaboration will involve Hot Wheels inspiring the next Polestar Design Contest, referencing the innovative designs from Hot Wheels’ history. Additionally, Polestar’s production vehicles will be transformed into Hot Wheels and Matchbox collectibles in the future.
This design contest and collaboration highlight Polestar’s commitment to innovative and sustainable design, as well as its interest in engaging with a broader design community.
