Rivian Enhances Ride Comfort for R1T and R1S Models via Over-the-Air Software Update

Rivian has released a new software update, version 2023.34.0, for its R1S SUV and R1T pickup trucks. The update brings several improvements to ride quality and handling while also adding some new features. Here are the key highlights:

  1. Improved Ride Quality: The update enhances ride quality in all drive modes and ride heights. It aims to strike a better balance between ride comfort and handling, with specific improvements in Sport Mode and All-Purpose Soft Ride Mode.
  2. Smoother Suspension Response: The software reduces the abruptness of the suspension response when encountering sharp road impacts. It also minimizes harshness when driving over bumps and dips at low speeds, such as in parking lots.
  3. Additional Cruise Control Setting: A new option for setting the cruising speed is introduced for Highway Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. This update adds a “Speed Limit” mode, which automatically sets the speed to match the detected limit for the road. “Current Speed” mode allows drivers to set the cruise control speed to their current vehicle speed.
  4. Screen Clean Feature: Rivian has included a Screen Clean feature that turns off all the displays inside the vehicle when activated. This feature is designed to make it easier for individuals cleaning the screens without inadvertently interacting with them.

Software updates are a common practice in the electric vehicle industry, allowing manufacturers to continually refine and enhance vehicle performance and features. Rivian’s latest update focuses on improving the overall driving experience, addressing ride quality concerns, and adding practical features for drivers.
