Rivian Phases Out Less Popular Paint Color Option, Probably the One You’re Thinking Of

Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer known for its R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV, has announced that it will be discontinuing the Compass Yellow color option for its vehicles. The company recently sent an email to reservation holders who were waiting for a Compass Yellow model, stating that the color option will no longer be available starting from mid-September.

As a result of this change, Rivian is giving affected customers the option to choose another paint color for their vehicles. If no action is taken, reservations for the Compass Yellow model will automatically default to the standard LA Silver color.

In addition to discontinuing the Compass Yellow color, Rivian is reportedly also discontinuing the 20-inch all-terrain Bright wheel option and the vegan leather interior. The vegan leather interior accents, initially planned to be available in Ocean Coast and Black Mountain styles, will no longer be offered. Instead, all R1T and R1S models will come standard with natural-grained ash wood interior finishes.

These changes have prompted some discussion among potential Rivian customers and enthusiasts, as they adjust their preferences and expectations for the upcoming electric vehicles. Rivian has been garnering attention for its innovative electric trucks and SUVs, which are poised to compete in the growing electric vehicle market.
