Tesla Offers All Model S and Model X Paint Options at No Additional Cost

Tesla has made significant changes to its pricing structure for the Model S and Model X. The most notable change is that all paint color options are now available for free. Previously, Tesla only offered Pearl White Multi-Coat as a no-cost option, with an additional charge for other colors. This change aligns with a previous adjustment made to the Model 3 and Model Y in North America, where Midnight Silver Metallic replaced Pearl White Multi-Coat as the standard paint color in July. However, it’s important to note that for the Model 3 and Model Y, only the standard color is free, while other colors come with added charges.

Additionally, last month, Tesla introduced a more affordable Standard Range variant for both the Model S and Model X. These variants reportedly use the same battery pack as the Long Range versions but are software-locked to provide less driving range. For example, the Model S Standard Range, with a starting price of $78,490, offers a range of up to 320 miles on a full charge when equipped with the standard 19-inch Tempest wheels. Meanwhile, the Model X Standard Range, starting at $88,490, provides a range of up to 269 miles on a full charge with the included 20-inch Cyberstream wheels.

These pricing adjustments could attract more potential buyers to Tesla’s Model S and Model X, as they now have more flexibility in choosing their preferred paint color without incurring additional charges. Tesla continues to make changes to its lineup in a bid to make electric vehicles more accessible and appealing to a broader range of consumers.
