The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 Debuts with Enhanced Performance, Power, and Technological Advancements

Volkswagen of America has announced significant upgrades for the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 electric compact SUV with an 82 kWh battery. The upgrades include a new performance drive unit, improved infotainment display, and a premium audio system.

Here are some key details about the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 with an 82 kWh battery:

  1. Performance Boost: The 82 kWh models will receive a new performance drive unit, increasing the power output. The rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version will produce 282 horsepower (hp), while the all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant will generate around 330 hp. This power boost enhances acceleration and is expected to improve the range, although exact range figures will be available closer to the market introduction.
  2. Enhanced Infotainment: The 82 kWh ID.4 models will feature an upgraded 12.9-inch infotainment display with backlit sliders. The climate control interface will also be more intuitive, and the infotainment menu has been revised.
  3. Comfort Features: Certain models with the 82 kWh battery will offer additional comfort features, including ventilated front-row seats for the S trim and a premium harman/kardon audio system with nine speakers, a subwoofer, and a 16-channel amplifier for the S Plus trim.
  4. Wheel Options: The 2024 ID.4 Standard AWD models will come with larger 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, while the S Plus trim will upgrade to 21-inch machined alloy wheels.
  5. Pricing and Tax Credit: Pricing for the 2024 ID.4 will be announced closer to its launch in early 2024. It’s worth noting that the 2023 ID.4 models are eligible for the full Federal Tax Credit of up to $7,500, as Volkswagen’s local assembly and sourcing qualify it for the credit.

These upgrades aim to enhance the driving experience and offer more options for customers interested in the ID.4 electric SUV.
